Safety is our number one priority for children’s eye wear. We upgrade glasses for children under 18 to polycarbonate lenses for free of charge*. Polycarbonate lenses are highly shatter resistant and used where safety is our primary concern. Polycarbonate lenses are naturally UV protective as well.
Reading Tests are included in Routine Eye Exam
We now include the Reading Plus Reading Test for children in 3rd to 9th grade free of charge. We made this change because we feel strongly that once the diagnosis is made at this age, we can improve their reading skills. Some children we have tested have shown no signs or have had no complaints of having any reading difficulties, but when shown their test results, were surprised. Their eyes were making all kinds of ineffective movements while they were reading, resulting in a very low score on the test.
When you make an appointment please let us know the age and grade of your child.
Transitions Vantage Variable polaized lenses are Here at EyePlace
The wait is over for variable polarized lenses. The polarized lenses are the best way to cut down on the glare we face in our lives. In fact, only polarized lenses can block the light that causes glare. But all polarized lenses are fixed tinted lenses which are only suitable for use as sunglasses- until now. Transitions Optical just released variable polarization lenses, Transitions Vantage Lenses. These lenses are available in both single vision and progressive lenses.
